Global Media Lab Inc. ("we", "us") sets out below how we handle information about users of our website (globalmedialab.tokyo), our applications including BrainPlay TV, and our other services (together, "the Service").

1. How we collect personal information

We may collect personal information such as your name and email address when you enter or send it to us — for example through a contact form or by email. Our applications never ask you to enter a name, an address, or any other personal information in order to use them.

2. Why we use it

We use the personal information and usage information we collect to respond to enquiries, to send information about our services, to provide and improve the Service, to prevent misuse, and for purposes incidental to our business.

3. Information collected through use of the Service

To provide and improve the Service and to guard against misuse, we may collect access logs: IP address, date and time of access, the URL viewed, and the type of browser or device. These logs do not contain information that identifies you by name.

In our applications, your play data — scores, points, saved progress — is stored on your own device (for example in browser local storage) and is not sent to our servers.

4. Cookies and analytics

The Service uses Google Analytics, an analytics tool provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to understand how the Service is used and to improve its content. Through it, the following information is sent from your device to Google.

• What is sent: an automatically generated identifier for the device (a random value stored in cookies or similar storage, which is not linked to your name), the date and time of access, the screens displayed, the name of the title selected and how long it was used, IP address, device and OS type, screen size, language setting, and an approximate region inferred from the IP address.
• Where it is sent: Google LLC (United States; its servers may be located outside Japan).
• Why: to analyse how the Service is used, to improve content and usability, and to plan new content.

Google's handling of the information it receives is governed by its own terms (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). Under the current specification of Google Analytics, the IP address is used for processing and is not retained as a record.

We do not enable the advertising features of Google Analytics (such as Google Signals), and we do not use the information we collect for advertising purposes.

If you do not wish this information to be sent, you may stop using the Service, or contact us at the address in section 10. Disabling cookies in your browser, or clearing this application's data from your device settings, will also delete the identifier described above.

5. Disclosure to third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except where required by law.

6. Joint use of collected data

We may make joint use of information collected through the Service (such as the access logs in section 3) as follows.

• Who: us; businesses involved in providing and distributing the Service (such as cable television operators acting as resellers); and the developers of the individual titles.
• Why: to provide and improve the Service, to understand how it is used, and to prevent misuse.
• Responsible party: Global Media Lab Inc. (Representative: Keiichiro Tokunaga; Room 807, Azuma 2nd Building, 1-14 Kanda Sakuma-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan).

7. Where information is stored

Information we collect may be processed and stored on servers located outside Japan. It is handled in accordance with this policy in that case as well.

8. Access, correction and deletion

If you ask us to disclose, correct or delete your own personal information, we will verify that the request comes from you and respond within a reasonable period.

9. Changes to this policy

Except where the law or this policy provides otherwise, we may change this policy without notifying users. A revised policy takes effect when it is published on the Service.
